After twelve years of expanding the definition of rock music, Tortoise will release a highly anticipated box set, including the long out of print 1995 album Rhythms, Resolutions & Clusters, rare singles from foreign releases and tour EPs, compilation tracks, and previously unreleased material such as remixes by band members and other artists, including Jim O’Rourke, Brad Wood, Rick Brown, Steve Albini, and Mike Watt. New Release: Jason Molina – Let Me Go, Let Me Go, Let Me Go

Buy It From Insound –Jason Molina

VINYL FORMAT. “I wanted badly to revisit the type of songs I did on my more experimental albums The Pyramid, The Ghost, and Protection Spells. I put this project together in the last days before I began what was a long and harrowing move back to Chicago. All of this is an attempt to put a serious price on lyrics that are honest not witty, shy but not weak, weary if they are and sad without apology, depression without a fight and depression with a fight.” – Jason Molina

TESTING: Don’t mind me ..

I’m trying to establish a way to blog via Email with some YouTube code included in the email. It’s not working. So, I apologize to any subscribers seeing a post starting with TESTING: in advance .. while I figure this out ..

ANYBODY HAVE AN IDEA?

I posted this in the WordPress Support Forums too …

According to .. http://codex.wordpress.org/Blog_by_Email

WordPress will use the Subject line of your email for the title of the post, and all body of the email will be used as the content of the post, with common HTML tags stripped. WordPress will file the post under whichever category is selected for “Usual Category” in Step 1, and will use Site Admin as the poster.

Any images and attachments in your email will be posted inline.

However .. on one of my blogs I have a Vlogger doing videos and we wish to just email the YouTube code directly to the blog for posting. It’s stripping the [object] and other html for the code for the YouTube and coming out blank space (as you probably have seen before I deleted them)

Is there a way around this?

New Release: Sebadoh – III

Buy It From Insound – Sebadoh

REISSUE. It’s hard to call this the shot heard ’round the world, but in its own way, III, along with Slanted And Enchanted, opened up a creative way by ransacking the vestiges of the 80’s American underground. The original album is a schizophrenic adventure, from Lou Barlow’s plaintive songwriting to Eric Gaffney’s noisier psychedelically minded etudes. Long out of print, this landmark album contains the 23-track original album on disc one and a whole album’s worth of additional bonus material.

New Release: The Knife – Silent Shout

Buy It From Insound – The Knife

GENERAL: Sweden’s The Knife write dark and delectable dance beats that sound like a cross between M83 and Bjork. This brother and sister duo will stab you with their electro-synths and vocal shrieks, and represent the bombastic future of rock.

DOMESTIC:
From darkest azure to black with hints of purple. From the outset it looked like it would be a body of work consisting only of shades of grey but at last the colours arrived – even if they turned out to be the darker nuances existing on the palette. Silent Shout is more focused than Deep Cuts, and not just because it features 11 tracks where its predecessor had 17. The songs are rich with detail, thoughts and ideas and innovations piled hard on top of each other. It may not make you want to dress up as a crow in the snow. But its jaw-dropping fusion of technology and emotion, circuitry and the soul, melodrama and melody, will leave you gasping.

IMPORT:
VINYL FORMAT. IMPORT. Be the first to hear what everyone is waiting for! This EP serves as a teaser for the much anticipated Silent Shout full-length. Featuring three versions of the title track including a ‘Williams Acidic Circuit Remix’ and a ‘Troy Pierce Barado en Locombia mix’ followed by the original version.

New Release: Panda & Angel – Panda & Angel

Buy It Now From Insound: Panda & Angel

On their first Jade Tree release, Panda & Angel paint a passively angst-filled portrait of lovelorn heartache and loneliness. This EP combines the sedated dissonance of early Low and Chan Marshall (Cat Power) with the melancholy filled distortion of My Bloody Valentine and the stark truth of PJ Harvey. Anchored by the haunting and hypnotic voice of Carry Murphy, this record offers a heavy-hearted perspective on losing one’s way and ultimately starting anew. The end result is a poignant memoir of melancholic regret, cathartic revelations, and vibrant but tempered pop orchestrations.

New Release: TV on the Radio – Return To Cookie Mountain

Buy It Now From Insound – Tv On The Radio

Already being lauded as the Best Album of 2006, NYC’s TV on the Radio bring you, “Return to Cookie Mountain,” which by all acounts should become a modern day classic. Since 2001, TV on the Radio have been mixing postpunk, electronic and other atmospheric elements in such a creative way that it only seems fitting that it’s core duo, Tunde Adebimpe and David Andrew Sitek, are both visual artists as well as musicians. Tunde is a graduate of NYU’s film school and specializes in stopmotion animation. The duo met when Sitek moved into the building where Tunde had a loft; each of them had been recording music on their own. They soon realized that their sounds would work well together which resulted in a self-titled, 24-track CD released by the Brooklyn Milk imprint. TV on the Radio then added guitarist/vocalist Kyp Malone to their fold. The band has now returned with Return to Cookie Mountain, a more polished but still soul-searching collection of songs. The Interscope release is set for September 12, and its atmospheric blend of soul, experimental, and avant-garde rock is sure to open the minds and ears of those who listen. Domestic version includes 3 bonus tracks!!
