Audio produced by Charlie Peacock. Poison & Wine written by John Paul White, Joy Williams & Chris Lindsey You only know what i want I you to I know everything you don’t want me to your mouth is poison your mouth is wine you think your dreams are the same as mine Idon’t love you but I always will I don’t love you but I always will I don’t love you but I always will I always will I wish you’d hold me when I turn my back well the less I give the more I get back your hands can heal, your hands can bruise I don’t have a choice, but I’d still choose you I don’t love you but I always will I don’t love you but I always will I don’t love you but I always will I don’t love you but I always will I don’t love you but I always will I don’t love you but I always will I don’t love you but I always will I always will I always will I always will I always will Poison & Wine is a musical snapshot about the dichotomy of love – that while it can be the thing that destroys you, it can also be the very same thing that beckons and builds you. JP and I are both married have been for several years now – and we got to talking one day about what a tug and pull our individual relationships can be. The longer you know someone – and the longer you allow someone to know you – the more the light and shadows inside each person become more

So my best friend kept going on and on about this new band called The Civil Wars and how awesome they were. He sent me this video as proof. I LOVED the song, but kept thinking…that girl looks familiar. THAT’S MY GIRL, JOY WILLIAMS! I have 3 of her albums because she was one of my favorite Christian artists when I was in high school. Great to see her still making BEAUTIFUL MUSIC and still being successful in the biz. YOU GO GIRL!

I, by no means, consider myself a sensitive nor really an emotional person. It takes much to “move” me, and more often than not, I am wholly unaffected by any form of media in that way. This song (if it can even be adequately described as just a song) reduced me to tears. The emotion is palpable, and evidently not bound by technological barriers.

Reminds a girl she’s human. Thanks for that.

I like how they’re in different rooms, yet singing the same song. Its like they’re still on the same page with each other, and connected, even when seperated.

  • jwood291 says:

Yes they are divided yet one the meaning of true connection. The song has phenomenal meaning in that as time moves on the light and dark intertwine and the longing to stay is there in a couple. That small thread that binds two people together keeps them connected. I think that’s why in real relationships where the love is pure, The couple can not stay mad or one of the two initiates the forgiveness process first. As dark as an abyss the person your with can be, you act as the light and venture

  • thescarletsnowband says:

  • HappyInLove909 says:

Every time I listen to this song I love it even more…

  • Carter Fromme says:

Nathan and Jennifer, it actually can be done even easier. As long as every team member is touching the fingers of the other team members, it is really easy. Most team members spread themselves out so that there is space between everyone. If they do, it’s almost impossible. Think about a loaf of sliced bread. If every team member holds their hand next to other team members in “slices”, you’ll create a “loaf” of hands all connected. As soon as one person starts to move, the whole group will feel it and move at the exact same time. If someone is late, the other hands will move for them.
